       Galveston’s Own Farmers Market 9-1pm  (Every Sunday)    
       *Pick up some local produce and help support local farmers and growers. They usually have a kids corner here and an artist playing some tunes.  Farmers Market

Sea Scout Base Galveston
       Schooner Sundays 2-5pm (Every Sunday)
       *Get a fresh start to the day and set sail on the Galveston Sea Scout Base’s schooner boat during “Schooner Sundays.” The massive sailing beauty leaves Offats Bayou just after noon each Sunday and sails out to destinations beyond Galveston causeway. A licensed captain and “spot tracker” is aboard the ship, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. *Check with website for cost involved*  Schooner Sundays

Lindale Park
       Free Tinkergarten Trial Class 9:30-10:30am
       *Come try out a Tinkergarten class with instructor Amy Carson! The trial class will give you the chance to see, first hand, what a class feels like and how we inspire authentic, play-based learning for children (and a great time for all)! This free trial class is designed to be the first class in the Spring season of Tinkergarten. This class is designed for children 18 months through five years old and a treasured adult.   Tinkergarten

The Grand 1894 Opera House
       Open Auditions: Red Riding Hood 4:30pm
       *An open audition for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of RED RIDING HOOD will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 promptly at 4:30pm at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston. There are roles for those students in Kindergarten through High School. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. This is a group audition - no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time!  Auditions

UTMB Levin Hall
       Mini Medical School 6-8pm - The Immune System Part I
       *For those who have always wanted to know more about how the body takes in oxygen and expels carbon dioxide, how the body fights off infections, or how blood circulates throughout the body, among other topics, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is hosting a Mini Medical School. A series of seven lectures beginning on March 23 will cover topics such as the respiratory system, the immune system, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system, the digestive system and health equity. All classes will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at UTMB’s Levin Hall, 1006 Market Street, Galveston. The series is free, open to those 16 and older and those interested can attend one or all sessions. But space is limited and registration is required. The registration deadline is March 16.        *Looking for something FUN? Hop aboard the M/V Baysmart Express for a 3 hour informative and scenic tour! Watch the pelicans soar over Offatts Bayou as you head into the Intercostal Waterway and pass under the Galveston Causeway Bridge. Be awed at the marine cargo vessels maneuvering in the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels. Dolphins surfacing are always exciting! Departing from and returning to the Sea Scout Base Galveston.       "Sales for Tails" Garage Sale Preview Event 6-8pm
       *The "Sale for Tails" event committee will host a Friday Night Preview PAW-ty, April 1st. Those attending will have an advance "look" at the merchandise and will enjoy light snacks and beverages.  Admission to the Preview PAW-ty is $10. The Sale will open to the public on Saturday, April 2 from 8am -2pm ; Sunday, April 3rd from 8am-noon.  Sales for Tails

       *This is an event you don't want to miss! Head on over to Post Office Street and have a great time! Completely geared toward kids - there is so much to do! Bounce houses, slides, performers, petting zoo, booths, wildlife presenters and more. The best thing? It's free!!! One my favorite events! Grand Kids Festival

Sea Scout Base Galveston
      US Sailing REACH on the Weekends 9am-5pm
       *Throughout the month of April, utilize sailing as an educational platform, challenge youth to embrace education, establish a love of learning and explore productive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based careers. Combining educators, sailing instructors, engineers, scientists with today’s youth to provide them with a one of a kind authentic learning experience, giving students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a cooperative work environment.
This is a month long program for youth whose schedules are open during the weekends. It is a full day program during the month of April. Each Saturday teaches two different sailing concepts over the five week program. Ages: 14-18, must be a High School student or a previous student in our REACH program. Time: 9 - 5pm Cost: $400 for 5 weeks Bring your own lunch and water bottle!       "Sales for Tails" Garage Sale 8am-2pm
       *The Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS) will sponsor its first ever Garage Sale - “Sale for Tails” -  Friday, April 1st through Sunday, April 3rd at  3628 35th Street in Galveston. The public is encouraged to donate items, to volunteer during the event, and to make purchases to ensure this new fundraising initiative becomes an on-going and successful project.  Sales for Tails

Armand Bayou
       Trash Bash 8am-1pm
       *Join hundreds of volunteers on land or on the water (bring your own paddle craft) as we work to clean up over 40 miles of Armand Bayou during the annual Rivers, Lakes, Bays and Bayous Trash Bash event.   Trash Bash 

Schlitterbahn Waterpark

       Spring Scout Day 9am-5pm
       *Scout Day at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark on Saturday, April 2, 2016. All Scouts receive an Exclusive use of the Wasserfest tower attractions from 9:00am-10:00am before it opens to the public on this special day, with all-day park admission and a FREE 2016 Schlitterbahn Scout Day Patch.        Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tours 9:30am-4:30pm (Tours departing at various times)
       *Come spend an hour on a Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tour, and learn about the creatures and features that make Galveston's marine and coastal ecosystems so special! Tours provide free hands-on exploration of questions such as: Why does the water change colors? How is seaweed a good thing? How do I connect to the ocean? The tours are educational and fun for ocean lovers of all ages. Each tour caps at 20 participants, but with multiple tours each day, they welcome individuals and groups. Sign-up for tours is on location, but if your group would like to reserve a tour, email the Bucket Brigade Coordinator at kguidroz@artistboat.org, or call Artist Boat at (409)770-0722.        *Let the beauty found in Galveston Island State Park inspire you to pick up a brush and lay down some color. Create a one-of-a-kind souvenir, and make some memories with Ranger Lisa. 

Moody Gardens
       Preschool Camp - Hidey Holes 9-11am
       *Join Moody Gardens with your preschooler to learn through story time, make a craft, have a themed snack, and visit one of the Pyramids at Moody Gardens. Preschool camps are designed for campers 3-4 years of age, accompanied by one adult. Reservations and pre-payment are required for all programs. Please make reservations at least two weeks in advance.        *Tours start at the Nature Learning Center and are led by volunteers from the Galveston Bay Area TX Master Naturalist. Come join the fun of seining, finding out more about fiddler crabs and experience all the bay has to offer.
