Welcome to Galveston Island Kids! GIK was started as a way for parents to keep up with kid friendly happenings around Galveston. Galveston is a great place for kids and there is always activities and events taking place! When I first moved here, I searched for a resource that would help me find out everything that is happening on a daily basis. I really could not find something that covered it all. So Galveston Island Kids is here! My hope is that parents on and off island will follow on Facebook to get updated about events and activities. I'll then have a link to this blog that will expand on the event or activity further. I also hope to post reviews of beaches, restaurants, parks, etc. that will help parents and visitors of Galveston Island. Please be patient as I get the blog and Facebook page up and running!        Notes: Children's Yoga is for ages 4-10 and they ask that you call ahead to sign up. It's $8 per child. Since it's for older kids I've never tried it, but I think it would be fun!

      Festival of Lights - Food Drive Thursday 2for1 Festival of Lights Admission - 6-10pm
     Notes: Bring a non-perishable food item and get 2for1 admission to the Festival of Lights! I haven't been yet this year, but I bet it's great if it's anything like last year. This is a great way to save some money. This will be offered every Thursday throughout the festival!

Clay Cup Studios - Mommy & Me Turkey Toes Painting

Today (Tuesday Nov 17th) at 1:30, Clay Cup Studios is offering Mommy and Me Turkey Toes Painting! You can choose different projects and paint Thanksgiving themed handprints or footprints with your little ones! I have not done a Mommy and Me class there, but have done an ornament painting event and it was lots of fun! Clay Cup is located right down on the Strand at 409 22nd Street.
