Wow - It's November! Now that October is over, the island is gearing up for all our Holiday festivities! It will be a little quiet until after Thanksgiving where everything is in full swing! I will let you know when the full November calendar is finished! For this week the NOT so kid friendly Lone Star Rally is town. Luckily, Clay Cup Studios is offering a Parents Night Out on Saturday night so you can check out the festivities. On Friday night, Galveston Island State Park is offering a Sunset Photo Hike that is open to all! The Home Depot workshop is Saturday morning where the kiddos can build a helicopter in honor of Veterans Day. If you want to avoid the Lone Star Rally all together - head off island to Texas City and check out the Touch a Truck Festival at the Texas City Museum! Sea Scout Base Galveston
Schooner Sundays 11-5pm (Every Sunday)
*Get a fresh start to the day and set sail on the Galveston Sea Scout Base's schooner boat during "Schooner Sundays." The massive sailing beauty leaves Offats Bayou just after noon each Sunday and sails out to destinations beyond Galveston causeway. *Looking for something FUN? Hop aboard the M/V Baysmart Express for a 3 hour informative and scenic tour! Watch the pelicans soar over Offatts Bayou as you head into the Intercostal Waterway and pass under the Galveston Causeway Bridge. Be awed at the marine cargo vessels maneuvering in the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels. Dolphins surfacing are always exciting! Departing from and returning to the Sea Scout Base Galveston.
