Weekly Events & Activities Oct 16th-22nd

Cooler weather is in the forecast as we gear up for a jam packed week! Monday starts off 13 Books at The Rosenberg Library. A different spooky and fun book will be read each day to countdown to Halloween! On Wednesday, the pumpkin patch at Moody Methodist will have kids activities geared towards K-1st grade. The Rosenberg Library is also having some spooky family fun that night! First Lutheran Church is having a Trunk or Treat on Friday night that sounds really fun with games, trunk or treating, and prizes! Also on Friday night, Galveston Arts Center is having an open studio family night with a monster theme. On Saturday there are lots of festivals including ARToberFest, Galveston Heritage Festival, and Galveston Island Brewing Oktoberfest! And check out another festival on Sunday with the Holy Family Catholic School Fall Festival. What a great week! Have fun!

       Children's Art Classes 3-7pm (Every Friday & Saturday)
       *Children's Art Classes every Friday 3-5pm & 5-7pm and Saturday 3-6pm. For ages 6-14. $20 per class, all art supplies provided, as well as healthy snacks and drinks. Tremont Art Classes
       Mommy & Me Classes 3-5pm (First Sunday of Every Month)
       *Come be a kid with your kids and let your infants and toddlers enjoy some sensory activities while creating fun and cute pieces of art. The class is over in 2 hours, but the memories will last a lifetime!  Call to reserve a space, $20 per class, all art supplies, snacks and drinks included.

       *From now on Tuesday will be Tiny Tot Tuesday at Clay Cup Studios! Bring your child in and for only $10 they can paint their very own tot.  Clay Cup Events

       Galveston’s Own Farmers Market 9-1pm (Sun) & 3-7pm (Thurs) (Every Sunday & Thursday)
      *Pick up some local produce and help support local farmers and growers. They usually have a kids corner here and an artist playing some tunes.  Farmers Market 

Seeding Galveston 33rd & Ave N

       Seeding Galveston Farmer's Market 8:30-11am (Wed)
       *Seeding Galveston is a Texas non-profit corporation whose purpose is to create a sustainable agricultural program to benefit community residents, Galveston Island food banks, and the needy, and to promote and teach sustainable farm techniques, nutritional food choices, culinary careers and community service. Join them every Wednesday for a market to purchase fresh fruits and veggies.  Seeding Galveston

       * Join McDonalds with your family for dinner! The three locations on the island host various themed family nights on Thursday nights. Check their Facebook events for the theme that week!

Sea Star Base Galveston
       Schooner Sundays 11-5pm (Every Sunday)
       *Get a fresh start to the day and set sail on the Galveston Sea Scout Base's schooner boat during "Schooner Sundays." The massive sailing beauty leaves Offats Bayou just after noon each Sunday and sails out to destinations beyond Galveston causeway. A licensed captain and “spot tracker” is aboard the ship, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. *Check with website for cost involved*
       M/V Baysmart Express Public Cruise 12:30-4pm (Every Saturday)
       *Looking for something FUN? Hop aboard the M/V Baysmart Express for a 3 hour informative and scenic tour! Watch the pelicans soar over Offatts Bayou as you head into the Intercostal Waterway and pass under the Galveston Causeway Bridge. Be awed at the marine cargo vessels maneuvering in the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels. Dolphins surfacing are always exciting! Departing from and returning to the Sea Scout Base Galveston. Boarding at 12:30 - Departing at 1:00pm. Overflow parking with shuttle service available. Adults: $30 | Kids (Under 12): $20 | Kids 5 and Under: Free SSB Calendar
