The Strand/Seawall
          Mardi Gras! Galveston Hours Vary (Jan 29th-31st & Feb 5th-7th & 9th)
          Come celebrate Mardi Gras! Galveston! I'll be listing the kid friendly events as separate events, as downtown at night will NOT be kid friendly! Also keep in mind that there is a cost to access the Mardi Gras Entertainment District (The Strand). BUT - it's free for the children's parades!!      Mardi Gras! Galveston

Clay Cup Studios
           Tiny Tot Tuesday (Every Tuesday)
            From now on Tuesday will be Tiny Tot Tuesday at Clay Cup Studios! Bring your child in and for only $10 they can paint their very own tot.    Tiny Tot Tuesday

          Kid For A Day Hours Vary - Only open Friday evenings & All day Saturday and Sunday (Jan 8th-February 28th)
         *Everyone pays the $19.99 kid price for all day ride passes!   Pleasure Pier

Tremont Gallery Galveston
         Children's Art Glass 3-6pm (Jan 15th-May 13th - Every Friday)
        *For children ages 6-14! Cost is $20 per class; art supplies and snacks provided. Tremont Gallery will be offering these every Friday afternoon with a different theme each class.   Children's Art Class

Downtown
2508 Post Office
       Galveston’s Own Farmers Market 9-1pm  (Every Sunday)    
      *Pick up some local produce and help support local farmers and growers. They usually have a kids corner here and an artist playing some tunes.  Farmers Market

        Celebrate Fat Tuesday at the library with pancakes and festive stories! Pre-registration is required.     Rosenberg Library 

The Strand
         Mardi Gras! Galveston Mystic Krewe of Aquarius 20th Annual Fat Tuesday 6:30pm
         *If you want to say goodbye to Mardi Gras - this is the parade to do it! It will feature all the crews. This is on the Strand and most likely suited for older kids, but most of the craziness from the weekend will be mostly over!  Mardi Gras! Galveston

       Beach Walk 3-4pm
      *Presenter: Master Naturalist Root Choice. The Beach Walk will consist of exploring the habitats around the beach side of the Galveston Island State Park.  You will meet at the boardwalk of the Day Use Area and proceed from there.       Beach Walk

Thurs Feb 11th

        Family Free Night 4:30-7:30pm
        *Come on in to the museum for a free night of family fun! They plan on making this a monthly event  on the second Thursday of each month.    GCM Calendar

Galveston Arts Center
         Chinese New Year Art Workshop 1:30-2:30pm
         *Children’s Art Workshop for ages 8-13. 2016 is the Year of the Monkey! Celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year with a variety of fun international art projects including Sumi ink painting, origami/kirigami and paper mask making. ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED! Cost is $22.           Cupid's Christmas Boat Lane Parade 6pm
          *The 54th Annual Christmas Boat Lane Parade has been rescheduled for Febuary 13 at Kemah Boardwalk. This is a popular Clear Lake area holiday tradition, now with a Valetine's Day twist. Grab the whole family to watch the hundreds of festive boats pass by the Clear Lake channel to Galveston Bay!    Boat Parade

Sunday Feb 14th

Sea Scout Base
      SMART Family Literacy Valentine's Smart Party 4:30-6:30pm
       *Join SMART Family Literacy for a Valentine's Day SMART Party (for families with children 8 years and under) at Sea Scout Base Galveston. The event is free but you must register by the 10th at SMARTFamilyLiteracy@gmail.com or by messaging them on Facebook.  Please let them know how many adults and children will be attending. There will be hands-on activities, free children's books and a video festival.

The Grand 1894 Opera House 
        Galveston Symphony Orchestra 4pm
       *Come listen to Galveston Symphony Orchestra at their Valentine’s Concert! Trond Saeverud, Conductor with the program consisting of: Mozart – Sinfonia Concertante, K.364, Espen Lilleslatten, violin – Elias Goldstein, viola, Bruckner – Symphony No. 4. Cost is $30 for adults and $20 for students.
