Here are your Summer Camps happening in Galveston - Summer 2018! Make sure you click on the links to get more information on each camp, including weeks available and cost. Island Summer Camps

Artist Boat
       Eco-Art Summer Camp (Jun -Aug)
       *Art meets science in the Artist Boat 2018 Eco-Art Summer Camp program sessions! Artist Boat Eco-Art Campers will experience true science and art enrichment with the creation of Eco-Art to beautify yards and homes. Three session themes are offered in which campers will use the scientific method to investigate processes in our ocean. Each camp will culminate in creating works of art that illustrate the knowledge that campers have acquired about our ocean. Camp sessions are designed for children Kindergarten – Sixth Grade.

       History Camp (Jul)

       City of Galveston Summer Recreation Program (Jun -Aug)
       *The Galveston Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of youth programs and activities each summer.  They are held at McGuire Dent Recreation Center and Wright Cuney Recreation Center. Stay tuned for more information on what they are offering this summer.

Clay Cup Studios
       Summer Camp (Jun-Aug)
       *Camp at Clay Cup is full of games, art and fun. Clay Cup this year will offer 3 day camps, 1 day camps, and a Mud Club Camp. Camp includes all materials for your child's project, snacks and drinks.

DLS Dance Studio

East End Theater Company (ETC) 
       Students on Stage (Jun - Aug)
       *ETC is proud to provide the youth of Galveston County with Students on Stage classes in the performing arts. The session culminates in a live public performances of a show at the end of the session. Students are instructed in the principles of acting, singing, dance, improvisation, costume & set design, and auditioning by highly-qualified faculty and guest artists. Fanfare Lutheran Music Academy
       2018 Summer Program (Jun-Jul)
      *The Lutheran Music Academy has all kinds of great summer camps! Get exposure to a variety of musical experiences with guitar, violin, piano, voice/choir, drums/percussion, as well as art and drama! Their excellent, experienced instructors will offer a full array of classes, (including a mid-morning/afternoon snack). They also offer Fanfare Jr, a music and movement camp for 2-5 year olds. If you pay by May 19 then you will get a nice discount!

Fishing Galveston Texas - Halls Landing
        Fishing Camp (Jun-Jul)
       *This summer camp teaches all of the basics of fishing. From knot tying, how to properly bait a hook, casting, and battling a fish on a rod and reel, to even how to throw a cast net and catch your own live bait. Your child will learn from a Licensed US Coast Guard Captain and Professional Galveston Bay Fishing Guide. There are one to two hours of hands-on teaching at the dock, then everyone will board the boats, and take off to the hot fishing spots to catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder and many other saltwater species. If you would like to enroll your child for a Galveston Summer Fishing Camp, or have questions - call 409-739-8526 or email greg@fishinggalvestontx.com. Galveston Arts Center
        Art Camp (Jun-Aug)
       *The Galveston Arts Center is offering morning classes throughout the summer as well as one week summer camps! This summer, they will offer two distinct focus areas during the summer. Each class date is a self-contained lesson, however, signing up for a block of classes will give kids the chance to build skills up from week-to-week in a particular focus area.

       *Galveston Arts League is offering classes throughout July. Cost is $10.00 per day or $30 if you sign up for all four classes. For further information contact Galveston Art League.

Galveston Ballet 
       Fairy Tale Camp (Jun-Jul)
       *The Galveston Ballet is offering their Fairy Tale Camp again this year! 5-day Workshops, include 3 full hours of themed dancing, acting, arts & crafts w/snacks provided. *Designed for children Age 3-6.

Galveston Island School District 
       Ready, Set, Read Above! Academic Summer Camp (Jun-Jul)

Galveston Children's Museum
        Summer Camp (Jun-Aug)
       *Galveston Children’s Museum’s summer camps offer science and engineering topics in an atmosphere of inquiry. Each session presents activities designed to actively engage children and promote wonder, questions, and critical thinking. Our camps are not intended to stop at the end of the session but hopefully will continue to spark continued interest and in the best case scenario lead to heightening curiosity about our wonderful world. We hope you will join us on our new adventures.

Galveston College
        Kids College (Jun-Jul)
        *Galveston College offers all kinds of classes throughout the summer for ages 8-14. Classes range from Minecraft Designers to Junior Chef!

Galveston Island Beach Patrol
      Junior Lifeguard Camp (Jun-Jul)
       *Youths between the ages of 10 and 15 can in the Galveston Island Beach Patrol Junior Lifeguard Day Camp Program. To participate, youths should have an interest in the beach environment, must be able to swim two laps (100 meters) without stopping, and be able to tread water for five to seven minutes depending on their age category. This camp is also a great first step for those youths who are interested in eventually becoming Galveston Island Beach Patrol Lifeguards.   *Scholarship available for those who qualify.

Geo's Texas Tumblers
      Gymnastics Camp (Jun-Aug)
       *Geo's is offering full day camps and half day camps (morning and afternoon) for those interested. Contact the gym for more information.

Grand 1894 Opera House
      Grand Theatre Camp (Jul 23-27)
       *If you love to perform for family and friends – this is the camp for you! Led by actors/directors from Missoula Children’s Theatre as well as The Grand’s camp staff, camp will consist of daily rehearsals and direction on acting, singing and technical theatre, as well as theatre crafts and performance instruction. Summer Theatre Camp is a week-long residency program presented by Missoula Children’s Theatre and will culminate in a full performance of King Arthur's Quest on Friday, July 27th at 6pm on The Grand’s stage. The Grand and Camp session is July 23-July 27, 2017 with classes from 12:30pm – 5:30pm each day, and the final performance at 6pm on Friday, July 27th. Family and friends are invited to attend the final performance. Campers must commit to attending all camp sessions and participating in the final performance on Friday evening. *Students must be between the ages of 7-16 by July 15, 2018. Camp size is limited and reservation and first deposit must be made by May 1, 2018.

Haunted Mayfield Manor
       Zombie Camp
       *CAN YOU SURVIVE THE ATTACK OF THE ZOMBIES? Find out at Haunted Mayfield Manor’s Zombie Summer Camp! Learn how to disguise yourself as a Zombie with expert make-up application instruction provided by Zom.Com, Design your own Zombie shirt, act out a mini Zombie skit inside a real haunted house! The entire skit will be filmed and made available to each camper. All for $59.95! Payment required at time of registration. This co-ed camp is open to ages 10 to 15. Houston Children's Chorus
       Houston Children's Chorus Camp (Jul)
       *Come sing with the Houston Children’s Chorus during this power-packed musical week. Experience a terrific week of learning fun pop songs, dance movements, solos, and meeting great kids from all over the Houston-Galveston area! Our special guests this year will be 20 children visiting from Taiwan. REHEARSALS HELD IN GALVESTON at Garten Verein in Kempner Park. Free lunch each day and a free performance t-shirt at the end of the week! FINAL PERFORMANCE: SUMMER POPS CONCERT – SUNDAY, JULY 29 at 5:00 p.m. at Galveston’s historic Scottish Rite Auditorium. THIS DAYCAMP IS FOR KIDS WHO HAVE COMPLETED GRADES 3 through 8. All we ask is that you rehearse with us Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and participate in the final concert at Galveston’s historic Scottish Rite Auditorium on Sunday, June 29 at 5:00 p.m. COST: $25 (Includes lunch each day, a group photo and a performance t-shirt.). Fee not required for previous years’ participants. REGISTER BY JULY 15, 2018.         Cooking Summer Camp (Jun-Jul)
       *Do you have a little one that loves to cook!? Sign them up for cooking summer camp at The Kitchen Chick! There is a variety of classes to choose from! The camps are for ages 7-14. Each camp is led by dynamic duo of certified teachers. Payment due in full at time of registration!

       Preschool Camp (Select Saturdays Jun-Aug)
       *Join Moody Gardens as your lil' will learn through story time, make a craft, have a themed snack, and visit one of the Pyramids at Moody Gardens. Preschool camps are designed for campers 3-4 years of age, accompanied by one adult. Reservations and pre-payment are required for all programs.
       Day Camps (Select Weeks Jun-Aug)
       *"THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT" DAY CAMPS - WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
          Nature inspires, science informs. Get ready for adventure as we discover how technology helps protect the amazing world of oceans and rainforests during our exciting “There’s an App for That” Day Camps! Campers will learn about methods, systems, and devices scientists use to understand and protect the animals that call these amazing ocean and rainforest worlds, home. Campers can collect sticker apps when participating in a variety of activities each day, including making crafts, hands on exploration, playing games, participating in guided tours of the pyramids, and visiting our other attractions. Day camps are tailored for two age groups, 5-6 years and 7-9 years, to best accommodate learning and development. Each age group will get to experience a unique camp. ‘S’ stands for science in our iCamp weeks, and there’s even more to learn and discover. Each day in June, campers will have loads of fun being scientists investigating and discovering how animals live in the wild. In July, your young scientist will explore the importance of wildlife and how to protect our natural resources. August camps show campers how inspiration from nature and science knowledge work together to protect wildlife using technology. Camp activities will reflect the day’s topic making their summer experience fun, educational, and unforgettable.       Junior Keeper Camp (Jul)
       *Join us to find out what skills are needed to be animal keepers at Moody Gardens during our Jr. Keeper Camp. Campers will learn about animal behaviors and enrichment, practice their observation skills, and make enrichment devices through hands-on activities and games. This camp includes an animal presentation and tours of the Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids. We will only be offering this camp twice in the summer, so hurry and register before spots fill up!
       Keeper For A Day Camp (Jul)
       *Work alongside the biologists as you experience firsthand what it’s like to be an animal keeper at Moody Gardens during our Keeper for a Day Camp. Campers will explore animal training, enrichment, exhibit requirements, and help us prepare food diets for the animals in the Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids. We will only be offering this camp twice in the summer, so hurry and register before spots fill up!

Moody Gardens Golf Course 
       Junior Golf Summer Camp (Jun-Aug)
       *Instruction includes swing basics for putting, chipping, the full swing, introduction and review of rules & etiquette, and lots of fun-based golf learning games. For ages 6-14. Questions? Ohana Surf & Skate 
       Surf Camp (Select dates Jun-Aug)
       *Learn to surf or improve your surfing skills presented by Ohana Surf Camps. Ohana has over 12 years of camp experience on Galveston Island teaching kids how to enjoy surfing and offer lessons everyday of the week. Your child will be met each morning at 9:00 a.m. by their own Ohana Surf Camp instructor on the beach between 28th & 29th St. on Seawall Blvd. (weekdays) or West Beach / Hershey Beach (weekends). These are excellent sites with good waves, sandy bottoms, and safe environments for learning to surf. As required, our instructors are Open Water Safety Certified, as well as camp being monitored by the Galveston Beach Patrol Lifeguards which are on duty at the 27th and 29th street jetties from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the day. Surf Camp hours are 9:00 am till 12:00 noon daily through the summer season.

PIRATES! Legends of the Gulf Coast
        Pirate Camp (Select Dates Jun-Jul)
       *PIRATE CAMP is the best fun a kid who loves pirates can have. Spend the day with pirates - it's educational! They do role playing, arts & crafts, games and fun. Each camper will receive a hat, a foam sword (learn sword fighting skills during our role playing fun), and a certificate issued by
Pirates! Legends of the Gulf Coast certifying their allegiance to the band of pirates. Camp begins promptly at 10 AM each day and ends at approximately 1:45 PM. All campers must bring a bag lunch and drink. This is a co-ed camp for 6-10 year olds. Limited to 10 children per day. Please complete all forms and submit, or you can download and print- email them, drop off or snail mail.  You MUST PRE-REGISTER at least 2 days in advance.

Texas A&M Galveston 
       Sea Camp Adventures  (Jun, Jul, Aug)
       *Texas A&M Galveston has lots of different sea camps to choose from! From Marine Biology to Fishing Camp to Shark Camp - they have a little bit of everything! They are filling up quickly so if you are interested - act fast! Ages 10-18

Texas Surf Camps
       Texas Surf Camp (Jun -Aug)
       *Texas Surf Camps primary focus is on surfing instruction and practice. It is their goal to provide each camper with the confidence and knowledge to continue the great sport of surfing on his or her own after camp is over. They also teach ocean education and awareness through fun, hands-on games and activities and presentations from organizations such as Surfrider Foundation. Requirements: MUST HAVE basic swimming skills and be comfortable in the ocean (One-on-one private lessons are available for non-swimmers). Age 6 & Up (Private Lesson only for under age 6) No Surfing Experience required! (Except for advanced camps). Surfers are divided into groups based on age.
