The Kitchen Chick
       Cooking Class: Kids Homemade Pasta! 11am-2pm
       *Chef Mary Bass will help your mini chef master an Italian feast! Young cooks will learn to make, roll and cut homemade pasta! They will pair their pasta with two sauces made from scratch: traditional tomato sauce and a fresh pesto sauce. Chef Mary will share her family meatball recipe too! Kids will toss a garden salad and learn to make a vinaigrette dressing. Wrap up the class on a sweet note by baking a scrumptious cupcake and piping buttercream frosting! This cooking class is appropriate for children 7 years and older. $50/child. Please call 409-497-2999 to reserve your spot!        Summer at the Seaport: Baggy Wrinkle!! 11am
       *Baggy Wrinkle!!! – Come help ELISSA crew make an important part of the ship’s rigging; BAGGY WRINKLE! Used as a traditional way to protect ELISSA”s sails from rubbing on the wire stays and manila lines, baggy wrinkle is more than just a fun word to say! All will students will make and bring home a Turks head bracelet. Tickets for each class are $3 for children under five, $12 for youth aged 6-18 and $15 for adults and available online or by calling 409-763-1877. Summer at the Seaport

       Cooking Class: Kids Fusion Fun! 11am-2pm
       *Chef Mary Bass will take your young chef on a tour of Asia! Kids will learn to make a savory steamed veggie dumpling, savory chicken satay skewers with an irristible peanut dipping sauce snuggled and the secret fluffy herbed rice. Chef Mary will also teach them how to make a spiralized rainbow salad tossed in a bright Thai dressing. We'll wrap up the class by making ooey gooey smore dessert sushi with homemade marshmallows! Galveston Island State Park

       Turtle Patrol Jr. 6-7pm  
       *Become a Jr. Ranger and help save the sea turtles! You can become a citizen scientist, and help the park to understand more about the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle, an endangered species that nests Galveston Island State Park. You will take a stroll down the beach and explore ways to help the environment. Meet at the day use picnic area and begin a short hike down the beach and through the dunes, patrolling for turtles on this easy, evening beach hike. Great for anyone wanted to become a Jr. Ranger. Families, groups, and pets on a leash are welcome. Jr. Ranger Edition focuses on more hands-on and kid-friendly activities and topics.

       Marine Biology Tour 9:30-11am
       *Galveston Historical Foundation’s Texas Seaport Museum is pleased to announce that they will be offering their Marine Biology Harbor Tour to the public on a limited basis. This unique experience takes place on board the SEAGULL II, a 50’ catamaran which docks at the Texas Seaport Museum, Pier 21, in Galveston. The tour starts at 9:30am and costs $15 per person for adults 19+, and $12 for youth aged 6-18.        *Walks led by Galveston Bay Area Texas Master Naturalists - come and make memories with your family and friends.
       Island Survivor 11:30am-12:30pm
       *Game of life and death in paradise for beach safety.Could you survive the wilderness of Galveston Island State Park? This paradise can be harsh for those without beach safety knowledge. Get the basics at this fun game for the whole family! Prizes awarded thanks to the Galveston Island Beach Patrol.
       Sand Castle Contest 2:30-3:30pm
       *Ranger Lisa will clear an area for our contest, and bring some gear for you to use. The park wants to see what kind of castle you can make, so you're invited to spend some time gathering materials, building a structure, and decorating it to your liking! Prizes awarded to participants, but you can enter youth into our Arts in the Parks contest, via the Get to Know website for bigger prizes (ages 0-19yrs): Get to Know  Only sand castles made during the program count. No prior experience or materials needed.

Clay Cup Studios 
       Family Date Day 10:30am-12:30pm
       *Family Date is held once a month. Created to open communication between family and create memories that will last a lifetime. Day includes 1 project that the family will work on together, lunch and drinks. Make sure to sign up ASAP, there is only room for 11 families. This is a day family date and you will need to bring a white shirt for each member of the family. $45 covers family of 4 additional people may be subject to additional $5 fee to cover food cost.  Clay Cup

       *MINI of Clear Lake is joining Shriners Hospital for Children - Galveston for Bulldog Buddies Test Drive Event. They will donate a stuffed toy replica of Spike, the MINI bulldog mascot, for every test drive of the new 2016 MINI Cooper Convertible at Pier 21 in Galveston. The event will feature children's activities as well as food, drinks, live music, and local vendors. There will also be a drawing for a Weekend Getaway in Galveston!  Test Drive Event

       *Join the Galveston Beach Band every Tuesday evening this summer beginning June 7th at 7:30 PM for a weekly outdoor summer pop band concert.  Every concert is free and offers great musical entertainment for the entire family!        Summer Art Program for Kids 9-10am (Ages 5-8), 10:30am-12:30pm (Ages 9-12) (Jun 10th-Aug 12 - Every Friday)
       *Friday morning classes are divided into two age groups: for 5-8 year-olds ($11 per class,) and for 9-12 year-olds ($22 per class.)  Taught by professional, working artists with teaching experience, the classes include topics like painting, printmaking, portraits, sculpture, comics and more.

       *Get a fresh start to the day and set sail on the Galveston Sea Scout Base's schooner boat during "Schooner Sundays." The massive sailing beauty leaves Offats Bayou just after noon each Sunday and sails out to destinations beyond Galveston causeway. A licensed captain and “spot tracker” is aboard the ship, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. *Check with website for cost involved*
       M/V Baysmart Express Public Cruise 12:30-4pm (Every Saturday)
       *Looking for something FUN? Hop aboard the M/V Baysmart Express for a 3 hour informative and scenic tour! Watch the pelicans soar over Offatts Bayou as you head into the Intercostal Waterway and pass under the Galveston Causeway Bridge. Be awed at the marine cargo vessels maneuvering in the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels. Dolphins surfacing are always exciting! Departing from and returning to the Sea Scout Base Galveston. Artist Boat
       Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tours 9:30am-4:30pm (Tours departing at various times - Daily in the summer)
       *Come spend an hour on a Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tour, and learn about the creatures and features that make Galveston's marine and coastal ecosystems so special! Tours provide free hands-on exploration of questions such as: Why does the water change colors? How is seaweed a good thing? How do I connect to the ocean? The tours are educational and fun for ocean lovers of all ages. Each tour caps at 20 participants, but with multiple tours each day, they welcome individuals and groups. Sign-up for tours is on location, but if your group would like to reserve a tour, email the Bucket Brigade Coordinator at kguidroz@artistboat.org, or call Artist Boat at (409)770-0722.       *Artist Boat is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.
