August in upon us! And as the school year approaches, summer activities are starting to wind down a bit! But still a great week! The Kitchen Chick is offering a kids cooking class on Monday and Tuesday is Toddler & Me Yoga at Rosenberg Library! You can also get Up Close & Personal with Rose the Skink on Wednesday. On Saturday check out the Back to School Festival hosted by Island Church, complete with Weiner Dog Races! Also on Saturday is Fish Printing at Galveston Island State Park, Brewing for Rhinos at Galveston Island Brewing, and Movie Nite on the Strand showing The Secret Life of Pets! On Sunday, join The Grand for a free concert by the Navy Band Cruisers! Have an awesome week!

Sea Star Base Galveston
Schooner Sundays 11-5pm (Every Sunday)
*Get a fresh start to the day and set sail on the Galveston Sea Scout Base's schooner boat during "Schooner Sundays." Watch the pelicans soar over Offatts Bayou as you head into the Intercostal Waterway and pass under the Galveston Causeway Bridge. Be awed at the marine cargo vessels maneuvering in the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels. Dolphins surfacing are always exciting! Departing from and returning to the Sea Scout Base Galveston.
